CSA Group is one of North America’s leading centers for testing and certifying Solar Energy Equipment. Consumers will look at a number of items when buying a photovoltaic module including the external agencies that have tested, qualified, or otherwise approved the module.

In North America, look for a listing from CSA Group, an organization which tests and certifies the safety and performance of PV products. In Europe, look for approval by the Commission of the European Communities (CEC). CSA Group can evaluate and test products to European Directives Standards (IEC) in cooperation with an EU Notified Body to determine compliance with CE Certification requirements. CSA Group regularly qualifies the manufacturer’s production units (rather than laboratory samples) to international standards.
